Training Assistance

ESD has a number of incentives that can help pay for workforce development and training. A typical training project involves a manufacturing company upgrading skill levels of new and/or current employees, often in conjunction with core competency improvement initiatives. ESD usually funds a large portion of the cost of training including instructor's time and materials used in such a program. A company is required to match ESD's investment by contributing cash and employee time to the project. ESD also funds many training initiatives through state and community colleges, private universities, technical schools, and trade associations. ESD can provide:

  • Up to half the cost of any training project that creates or retains jobs
  • Training in new technologies, new skills or work processes
  • Classroom or on-the-job training
